I would just say "Woher (in Deutschland) kommst du?"; pretty sure they will get the context

yeah sometimes there's more so therefore i say wo in Deutschland instead of woher kommen sie

yeah sometimes there's more so therefore i say wo in Deutschland instead of woher kommen sie

"Wo in Deutschland" is totally okay in that context

at least I would understand it
