1. why do people in germany stare at each other?
2. what do you think about people identifying as non-binary and how does it translate into german? how would you use they/them?

1. They don't?
2. Not every german thinks the same. You can't generalize 83 million people. Everyone has a different opinion.

And the thing with pronouns is very complicated, I think some people use the english terms they/them, some people use xier or dey but as always it is a personal individual question and everyone is allowed to decide themselfes how they whant to be refered to.

Non-binary translates to "nicht binär" but many people use the english term.

1. if they do, it's because it's considered impolite to say something to other people but no one ever forbid silent judging and I feel like people don't really care if they're silently judging around here? also, I feel like Germans are more of an observer than acting nation

2. that actually is a linguistically funny question because yes, gender neutral personal words like these don't exist. so you'd get a better answer by asking non binary people which pronouns they use for themselves, since that's a very personal matter to begin with

3. do you still think we don't recognise trolls?

interesting. i always wonder how gendered langauges deal with this sort of thing.
americans having trouble with using mankind instead of humankind etc. when other languages are entirely built on that like french, spanish etc.

And what do those articles say about the reason behind this? I can't look at it from an outsiders perspective, because I'm not an outsider. I don't stare at people and nobody stares at me

yeah what I was giving you is an outsider perspective
I'm not German and I know exactly what you mean by it, but it's really not that deep, it's just a cultural approach to life
it's how there is some cultures who don't really smile much at people
germans look but rarely act or react to stuff if it's not severe
so you have a bunch of people just functioning like observers
it's actually pretty common for many european countries to be very "watchful"

from what i can tell it's just a cultural thing. in my culture it's not normal to stare at people, avoiding eye contact is common. staring at someone or looking too long is the equivocal of saying "you have a problem? you want a fight?" so it's interesting to compare

Yeah that's exactly how it is in Germany. It's not normal to stare at people and especially for (young) men it's common to ask other men if they have a problem with them when they look at them for too long. I don't see any difference in geman culture to your culture.
Btw where are you from?
