I really enjoyed the game, though the puzzles mostly seemed to be easier than in the first two games? But maybe I just got very used to how most of them work and what to specifically look out for. Either way I can't really complain, I liked them nonetheless and I enjoyed not spending 30 minutes sitting in front of one and the same puzzle. LOL
Overall I enjoyed the plot as well! Though I do think I would rank the game as only being my second favorite so far. I still think the first one is my absolute favorite and the second one is the weakest so far, at least story-wise (considering that I can't even really remember what happened aside from being on a train and in a scary castle LMAO). Sadly the plottwist of them not actually being in the future fell a bit flat to me since I expected that from the beginning. I didn't think Prof Layton was a franchise that would suddenly introduce time travel. BUT that brings me to my next point: I didn't see the twist coming that "Celeste" was actually a time-travelling Claire! The scene with her leaving again was so sad!
I think I'll wait a bit before I start the next Layton game though. Typically when I start the next game of a series right after finishing the previous one I'll put a few hours in and then just put it off for weeks/months (like with Layton as you can see ... and the Yakuza series ...).
