Hey everyone
I’ve been reading the thread and I wanted to talk to you directly.
First: yes, we need to bring in a bit more money soon — mainly to pay the server and keep things running. That’s the practical part.
But I also saw a few comments like “the owner doesn’t care,” and I want to clear that up. If I didn’t care, VP would’ve been stopped already. The truth is: I have another business that takes most of my time and actually makes money. VP doesn’t. And still, a few times in the last year or two I hqd to put in my own money so the site could stay online — not because I play myself, but because I know a lot of you are very attached to it.
What I’ve realised is: if VP can just cover its own costs, it can stay. That’s why we brought Enbette in and why I’m trying to have someone run VP more actively, so it doesn’t depend on me being around 24/7.
We’re already looking at some of the ideas you mentioned — for example a token-style thing where you buy and then choose the set you want, instead of having to go through all tiers. That came straight from what you all said, so please keep sharing.
I also get that some of you are scared to spend if you don’t know how long VP will be here. That’s fair. The honest answer is: VP stays if we can pay the bills. Up to now I’ve taken that risk — now I’m asking you to help a little so we can get past this moment and start doing the fun updates again (more shop stuff, better rewards for designers, etc.). This is why Enbette is here and I'm confident VP will gain a lot with your ideas and Enbette's skills.
So: thank you for talking so openly, thank you for still being here, and keep throwing ideas at us about how to make spending actually feel worth it. We are listening, and we do want VP to keep going. 💙
