VP-Etjen Schrieb:
Hi everyone,
here's a quick update on what I mentioned a while back about bringing on a new developer.
Things might have seemed a bit slow from the outside these past few weeks. This wasn't because nothing was happening, but because it took longer than expected to get full technical access to Virtual Popstar and to clean up the infrastructure behind the scenes. This work is now complete, and the developer is fully integrated – so from now on, it should be much easier to actually implement things.
Something that might (pleasantly) surprise some of you: the developer is also a Virtual Popstar player – he's known on the site as Enbette
. A few words about him, because I think it's important that you know who's working on the game:
he's currently pursuing a Master's degree at an IT university, researching the "use of gaming software platforms for modeling information and communication networks."
In his free time, he develops PC/web games and has already created several minigames and layouts for NewsTeam articles.
He's known Virtual Popstar for about 8 years – originally through his younger sister, who let him play Minesweeper and the old Roses game and always told him all the Virtual Popstar stories 😅
And most importantly: he already has concrete ideas for Virtual Popstar.
What's next? (still needs to be coordinated with the admins and put into a roadmap):
Wardrobe update,
Christmas/seasonal design for the website,
overhaul of the core gameplay (fans & performances).
As mentioned in previous announcements: the goal is to give Virtual Popstar a new lease on life – more activity, more members, and enough revenue to fund future developments and infrastructure.
I'm also working on finalizing the new management/admin structure so it's clearer who makes decisions and how priorities are set. Once that's in place, we can align Enbette's ideas with those of the admins and what the team and community want.
Infrastructure = completed ✔️
Developers = on board ✔️
Next phase = building ✔️
Thanks for sticking with us – things are starting to move again. 💙
